The Hepco & Becker tanking Basic is specially designed for the motorcycle model BMW R 1200 R from the construction years 2015 to 2018. This accessory enables a secure and practical attachment of a compatible tank bag directly to the machine's fuel tank.

Product features

• The tanking ensures a stable hold of the tank bag, even at higher driving speeds.
• A mechanical lock makes handling easier by simply putting on the tank bag and audibly locking.
• The unlocking takes place via a belt on the front part of the tank bag, which is pulled in the direction of travel to loosen the backpack.
• The use of the tank bag system does not require a general operating license (ABE) in Germany or an entry in the vehicle documents.
• A maximum payload of about 3 kg is recommended for the tank bag.
• The recommended maximum speed with assembled tank bag is 130 km/h.

Differences to the lock-it tanking

The basic tanking differs from the Lock-IT model by the type of locking. While the Lock-IT tanking also uses magnets for the centering, the BASIC model makes the lock in a purely mechanical way. Both variants use the same model -specific metal ring.

Compatibility and installation

In the scope of delivery of the tanking basic, the tanking itself and a counter holder are included, which is attached to the tank bag depending on the tank shape and handlebar. The fuel lid remains fully accessible even when fueled. No other parts are necessary for the installation as long as a compatible tank bag is used.
