The Hepco & Becker tanking Basic is specially designed for the Yamaha for 600 motorcycle model, which was produced between 1988 and 1990. This accessory serves the safe attachment of a tank bag and is characterized by easy assembly and handling.

Product content and assembly

The scope of delivery includes the tanking basic and a customizable counter holder, which is attached to the tank and the handlebars on the tank bag. The fuel lid remains fully accessible even with assembled tanking, which makes use easier.

Technical features and operation

The tanking ensures a stable connection even at higher speeds and enables a mechanical lock of the tank bag positioned on it. The unlocking takes place via a belt on the tank bag, which is pulled in the direction of travel to loosen the backpack.

• The tanking and the tank bag combine with a clearly audible snapping.
• The maximum payload of the tank bag should not exceed about 3 kg.
• In Germany, no general operating license (ABE) or an entry in the vehicle documents is necessary for the use of the tank bag system.
• The recommended maximum speed with assembled tank bag is 130 km/h.

Differences to other tanking systems

The basic tanking works purely mechanically and thus differs from models such as the lock-IT tanking, which also uses magnets for centering. However, both systems use the same model -specific metal ring.

It is important to note that a tank bag with lock-IT counterholder cannot be installed on a basic tanking and vice versa. The system components must be compatible.
