Product description: Hepco & Becker Tankring Basic for Suzuki GSX-R 1000

The Hepco & Becker tanking Basic is specially designed for the Suzuki GSX-R 1000, models of the construction years 2005 to 2008. This component serves to secure and stable attach a tank bag on the machine.

Product details

The scope of delivery includes the tanking basic, which is mounted on the fuel lid of the Suzuki GSX-R 1000, as well as an adaptable counterholder for the tank backpack. The assembly of the tanking does not affect the function of the tank cover, which remains fully accessible even when the ring is attached.

Installation and compatibility

The installation of the tanking is uncomplicated and only requires the use of the supplied counter holder, which is adjusted depending on the shape of the tank and the impact of the handlebar. Only a compatible tank bag for the specific models of the GSX-R 1000 is necessary for use.

Features and security

  • The tanking ensures a secure hold of the tank bag, even at high speeds.
  • The operation is carried out via a mechanical lock, which enables a clearly audible snapping of the tank bag.
  • The backpack is unlocked simply by pressing a belt on the front part of the backpack in the direction of travel.
  • In Germany, no further permits or entries are required for the use of the tank bag system.
  • The recommended maximum speed with assembled tank bag is 130 km/h.
  • The maximum payload for the tank bag should not exceed about 3 kg.

A notice: It is important to observe the information from the motorcycle manufacturer and the specific instructions of the product.

Differences to other tanking systems

The basic tanking differs from the lock-it tanking by the type of locking. While the Lock-IT tanking also uses magnets for the centering, the locking is purely mechanical for the basic model. However, both systems use the same model -specific metal ring.
