The VERTEX GP Racer Choice forged piston is designed as a forged aluminum piston for the GasGas MC 450 F Factory Edition from 2023-2025. The racing compression concept combines a precisely designed piston crown shape with design details that are tailored to use in performance-oriented 4T engines.

Function and construction

The shape of the piston crown supports a defined flame front and is designed for the maximum permissible compression ratio. Reinforcements stiffen the piston structure and reduce piston crown deformation under full load. The short piston pin and the chamfer with DLC coating (Diamond Like Carbon) complement the version for racing use.

The locking ring with a nose on the outside counteracts twisting at high speeds. An extra-thin GNH piston ring made of gas nitrided steel increases wear resistance.
