KTM 950 SUPERMOTO [2006-2010] - Z-ring chain

The Regina 525 HPE Z-Ring chain with rivet closure sets new standards in the performance and durability of motorcycle chains. This state-of-the-art chain does not require regular relubrication, which would be common every 1,000 km. This innovation saves motorcyclists valuable time and effort that would otherwise be spent on maintenance.

The HPE chain has been extensively tested both in the laboratory and on the road and has proven that its service life is at least as long, if not longer, than that of a conventional, regularly lubricated Z-ring chain. A key advantage of this chain is the coating with Tetrahedral Amorphous Carbon (ta-C), one of the most advanced coatings from the group of DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coatings. This coating is applied to the surface of the bushings and rollers and reduces energy losses while increasing efficiency in the secondary drive.

The very high hardness of the coated surface combined with a low coefficient of friction results in improved performance. Additionally, eliminating the need to clean the chain and use lubricants minimizes environmental impact. This technological innovation was driven by intensive research and development work by Regina engineers in Italy.
