Care and maintenance

To maximize the life of your motorcycle battery, the following points should be considered:

• The battery should only be used for its intended purpose, primarily for starting and operating vehicles with internal combustion engines.
• Keep the surface of the battery clean and dry. Avoid depositing oils or liquids to prevent leakage currents and thus increased self-discharge.
• Check the battery level regularly, at least every 6 months, and top up with purified water (not battery acid) if necessary.
• If there are signs of high water loss, the function of the charge controller should be checked by a specialist.

It is also important to check the battery charge level regularly; ideally you should ensure that the battery is always at least 75% charged. An optimal charge of 100% is ideal for using the full performance of your battery.

Please note that deep discharge is usually the result of your own fault and often leads to total battery failure. The ideal storage temperature during longer periods of standing is between 10 and 15 degrees Celsius to prevent self-discharge and water to minimize loss.
