The Hepco & Becker tanking Basic is specially designed for the motorcycle model Kawasaki ZX-9 R Ninja of the year of construction 2002-2003. This accessory is used to secure and stable attach a corresponding tank bag on the machine.

The scope of delivery includes the tanking basic and an adaptable counter holder, which is installed depending on the tank shape and the handlebars on the tank bag. The tank lid remains fully accessible even when tanking is attached, which the use is considerably simplified.

  • The tanking ensures a secure hold, even at high driving speeds.
  • The operation takes place via a mechanical lock that enables an audible snapping when the tank bag is put on.
  • The backpack is unlocked simply by pressing a belt on the tank bag in the direction of travel.
  • In Germany, no general operating license (ABE) or an entry in the vehicle documents is necessary for tank sack systems.
  • The recommended maximum speed with assembled tank bag is 130 km/h.
  • The maximum payload for the tank bag should not exceed about 3 kg.
  • It is recommended to always observe the information from the motorcycle manufacturer and the specific instructions for the model.

The basic tanking differs from the lock-it tanking by the type of locking. While the Lock-IT tanking also uses magnets for centering, the locking is purely mechanically on the basic model.

Please note that a tank bag with a lock-IT counterholder cannot be installed on a basic tank ring and vice versa. Both components must be of the same system.
