The Hepco & Becker tanking Basic was specially developed for the motorcycle model Kawasaki GPX 600 R, built in 1988 to 1999. This product enables stable and secure attachment of a compatible tank bag directly to the fuel tank of the motorcycle.

The scope of delivery includes the tanking and an adaptable counterholder that is installed depending on the specific tank shape and the handlebar impact on the tank bag. The fuel lid remains fully accessible even with assembled tanking, which ensures uncomplicated handling.

Technical details and assembly

The assembly of tanking is straightforward and does not require any further adjustments to the motorcycle. Once installed, the Hepco & Becker tank bag is simply placed on the ring and safely snaps in. The unlocking takes place via a mechanism that is activated by pulling a belt on the tank bag, which can easily be removed.

Security and recommendations

• The tanking ensures a firm hold, even when driving at higher speeds.
• The lock is mechanically and is confirmed by a clearly audible click.
• In Germany, no general operating license (ABE) or an entry in the vehicle documents is necessary for the use of the tank bag system.
• A maximum speed of 130 km/h with assembled tank bag is recommended.
• The recommended maximum payload is about 3 kg.

Differences to other tanking systems

The basic tanking differs primarily from the lock-it system by the type of locking. While the Lock-IT tanking also uses magnets for centering, the basic tanking is based exclusively on a mechanical locking system. However, both systems use the same model -specific metal ring.

In addition, it should be noted that tank bags and counterholder of the lock-IT system are not compatible with the basic tanking and vice versa.
