The steel assembly plates enable the installation of a 5-speed transmission to a rigid frame, which were originally designed for 4-speed transmission. These panels are made of high -quality 3/16 inch sheet steel and offer a robust basis for changing gear changes. Transferred versions are also available for applications with wide tires.

It is necessary to convert the primary circuit and the starter of the 4-speed system to the components of the 5-speed softtail system in order to ensure correct functionality. When using a gear from 1986 to 1989, a clutch hub from this time is required. A corresponding coupling hub must be used for gearboxes from 1990 to 1999.
