DUCATI 916 [2001-2003] - Z-ring chain

The Regina 525 HPE Z-Ring chain with rivet closure sets new standards in the performance and durability of motorcycle chains. This highly developed chain does not require regular relubrication, which makes it particularly low-maintenance. Motorcyclists no longer have to lubricate the chain every 1,000 km, which not only saves time but also protects the environment as no lubricant is wasted.

Extensive testing in laboratories and on the road has proven that the service life of the HPE chain is at least as long, if not longer, than that of a conventional, regularly lubricated Z-ring chain. A special feature of this chain is the coating with Tetrahedral Amorphous Carbon (ta-C), one of the most advanced coatings from the group of DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coatings. This coating is applied to the surface of the bushings and rollers and ensures a reduction in energy losses and an increase in efficiency in the secondary drive.

The combination of extremely high hardness of the coated surface and a low coefficient of friction results in improved performance. Eliminating the need to clean the chain and eliminating lubricant splashes during operation also minimizes environmental impact. This innovative technology was developed and perfected through intensive research and development work by Regina engineers in Italy.
