DUCATI 800 MONSTER S 2 R [2005-2007] - Z-ring chain

The Regina 525 HPE Z-Ring Chain with Rivet Link sets new standards in the performance and durability of motorcycle chains. This sophisticated chain does not require regular relubrication, which would be every 1,000 km. This represents a significant improvement over traditional Z-ring chains that require regular lubrication.

Extensive tests in the laboratory and on the road have proven that the HPE chain has a service life that is at least equivalent, if not longer, than conventional, regularly lubricated Z-ring chains. A key advantage of this chain is the innovative coating made of Tetrahedral Amorphous Carbon (ta-C), one of the most advanced coatings from the group of DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coatings. This coating is applied to the surface of the chain's bushings and rollers and reduces energy losses while increasing efficiency in the secondary drive.

The combination of extremely high hardness of the coated surface and a low coefficient of friction results in improved performance. Additionally, eliminating the need for chain cleaning and lubricant spraying during operation minimizes environmental impact. The development of this innovative coating process was carried out through intensive research and development work by Regina engineers in Italy.
