DUCATI 1000 MONSTER [2003-2005] - Z-ring chain

The Regina 525 HPE Z-ring chain with rivet link sets new standards in motorcycle technology. This innovative chain eliminates the need for regular lubrication that motorcyclists typically have to do every 1,000 km. Extensive laboratory and road tests have proven that the service life of the HPE chain is at least equal to, if not longer than, that of a conventional, regularly lubricated Z-ring chain.

A special feature of this chain is the coating with Tetrahedral Amorphous Carbon (ta-C), one of the most advanced coatings from the group of DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coatings. This coating is applied to the surface of the bushings and rollers of the HPE chain and reduces energy losses while increasing efficiency in the secondary drive. The combination of extremely high hardness of the coated surface and a low coefficient of friction results in improved performance.

Eliminating the need for chain cleaning and avoiding lubricant splashes during operation also minimizes environmental impact.
