The Hepco & Becker tanking Basic is specially designed for the motorcycle model BMW S 1000 XR of the construction years 2015-2019. This product is designed to fast and stable a tank bag without affecting the functionality of the tank cover.

Product features

• The tank backpack is securely attached to the tankring by a mechanical lock and fixed with a clearly audible clicking noise.
• The unlocking takes place easily and intuitively by pressing a belt on the front part of the tank bag in the direction of travel.
• The tanking enables easy access to the tank cover even when the tank bag is installed.
• The maximum payload of the tank bag should not exceed approx. 3 kg to ensure optimal security.
• The recommended maximum speed with assembled tank bag is 130 km/h.

Technical details

The tanking basic is included in the delivery of the tanking basic and the corresponding counterholder, which is attached to the tank shape and the handlebars on the tank bag. A general operating license (ABE) or an entry in the vehicle documents is not required for tank sack systems in Germany.

Differences to other tanking systems

Compared to the Lock-IT system from Hepco & Becker, which also uses magnets for centering the tank bag, the basic tanking is based exclusively on a mechanical lock. Both systems use the same model-specific metal ring, but the domes mounted on the ring differ: in basic tanking, they are made of plastic, the lock-IT system made of magnet.

It is important to note that tank bags and tankers must be compatible within the same system, since the counterholder and locking are system -specific.
