BMW R 1150 GS Adventure [2001-2005] - Tanking Basic including counterpart tank sack

The Hepco & Becker tanking Basic has been specially developed for the motorcycle model BMW R 1150 GS Adventure, construction years 2001 to 2005. This accessory is used to secure the Hepco & Becker brand.

Product description

The scope of delivery includes the tanking basic and a corresponding counter holder, which is attached to the tank shape and the handlebar attack on the tank bag. Assembly of tankers does not affect the accessibility of the tank cover, which can continue to be opened without any problems.

Characteristics of tanking

• The tanking offers a stable hold, even at high driving speeds.
• The operation is carried out by a mechanical lock that enables simple handling.
• The tank bag is placed on the tanking and locked itself audibly.
• For unlocking, a mechanism is operated, which is located at the front of the tank bag, whereupon the backpack can be easily removed.
• In Germany, no general operating license (ABE) or an entry in the vehicle documents is necessary for tank sack systems.
• The recommended maximum speed with assembled tank bag is 130 km/h.
• The recommended maximum payload for the tank bag is around 3 kg.

Differences to other tanking models

The basic tanking differs from the lock-it tanking by the type of locking. While the basic tanking mechanically locked, the lock-IT model also supports magnets. The basis of the tanking, the model -specific metal ring, remains identical in both variants.

It should be noted that tank bags with lock-IT counter holder cannot be mounted on a basic tanking and vice versa, since the systems are not compatible.
