APRILIA SRV 850 [2013-2021] - Z-ring chain

The Regina 525 HPE Z-ring chain with rivet link sets new standards in performance and freedom from maintenance for motorcyclists. This chain is characterized by its innovative Z-ring technology, which eliminates the need for regular lubrication every 1,000 km. This not only offers a significant increase in comfort, but also saves time and maintenance costs.

Extensive tests both in the laboratory and on the road have proven that the service life of the HPE chain is at least as long, if not longer, than that of a conventional, regularly lubricated Z-ring chain. Another highlight of this chain is the coating with Tetrahedral Amorphous Carbon (ta-C), one of the most advanced coatings from the group of DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coatings. This coating is applied to the surface of the bushings and rollers and reduces energy losses while increasing efficiency in the secondary drive.

The very high hardness of the coated surface combined with a low coefficient of friction results in improved performance. Eliminating the need to clean the chain and use lubricants also minimizes environmental impact. This technological innovation was made possible through intensive research and development work by Regina engineers in Italy.
