APRILIA RSV 1000 [2005-2015] - Z-ring chain

The Regina 525 HPE Z-ring chain with rivet link sets new standards in terms of durability and freedom from maintenance for motorcyclists. Thanks to the revolutionary High Performance Endurance (HPE) technology, this innovative chain no longer requires regular relubrication, which would otherwise be required every 1,000 km. This makes them an ideal choice for drivers who value low maintenance and high performance.

Extensive tests in the laboratory and on the road have proven that the service life of the HPE chain is at least as long, if not longer, than that of a conventional, regularly lubricated Z-ring chain. Another outstanding feature of this chain is the tetrahedral amorphous carbon (ta-C) coating, one of the most advanced coatings from the group of DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coatings. This coating is applied to the surface of the bushings and rollers and reduces energy losses while increasing efficiency in the secondary drive.

The very high hardness of the coated surface combined with a low coefficient of friction leads to improved performance. Eliminating the need to clean the chain and prevent lubricant contamination during operation also minimizes environmental impact. These technological advances were made possible by intensive research and development work by Regina engineers in Italy.
