What are Throttle Stabilizers?
A throttle stabilizer is a throttle control mechanism that allows the driver to fix the throttle in a desired position. The Kaoko Throttle Stabilizer Kit consists of a simple, ingenious and robustly constructed friction nut integrated with a special Kaoko™ bar end weight. The Kaoko™ bar end weight closely follows the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) bar end weight in appearance and weight. Most installations simply require removing the OEM bar end weight and installing the Kaoko Throttle Stabilizer Kit in its place.
To activate: While the throttle is applied, the friction nut can be held between the little finger and the palm of the hand. This action tightens the nut and creates enough friction to hold the throttle in the desired position. (The friction is such that the driver can continue to open and close the throttle; it only has a slight resistance to rotation.)
To deactivate: While releasing the throttle, hold the friction nut between the pinky finger and the palm of your hand. The throttle should open freely and close freely when deactivated correctly.
Can I install the Kaoko Throttle Stabilizer Kit myself?
Included with every Kaoko Throttle Stabilizer is a set of unique and specific product installation instructions. Assembly is quick and easy and can be completed in just a few minutes. In most cases, installing Kaoko cruise control simply requires removing the OEM throttle side arm end weight and replacing it with the Kaoko cruise control kit.
