Step 1: Preparation
Before you start working, make sure you have all the tools and spare parts required. This includes a new cable, a wrench, a screwdriver and possibly a pliers set.
Step 2: Access to the outlet control
To achieve the rope train for the outlet control, you have to remove the cladding of the motorcycle. Start removing the screws that hold the side panels and carefully lift them off.
Step 3: Remove cable
After the cladding is removed, localize the old cable. Disconnect it from the outlet control and the handle by loosening the fastening clamps. Make sure not to damage the cable if it is still needed.
Step 4: Install the new cable train
Take the new cable and attach it to the outlet control. Guide the cable through the intended brackets and connect it to the handle. Make sure that the cable car is not too tight or too loose.
Step 5: adjustment
Check the voltage of the cable. It should be tight enough to ensure a proper function, but not so tight that it hinders mechanics. Adjust the fastening clamps accordingly.
Step 6: completion and test
Put on the motorcycle cladding and secure all screws. Then carry out a test run to ensure that the outlet control works perfectly. Pay attention to unusual noises or movements.
How often should I check the cable?
It is recommended to check the cable at least once a season, especially before long journeys or after intensive use.
What can I do if the cable tears?
If the cable pulls, it should be replaced immediately. Do not drive with a defective cable train because this can significantly impair the motorcycle driving behavior.
