Step 1: Prepare tools
Make sure you have the right tools on hand. This includes a wrench, a screwdriver and possibly pliers.
Step 2: jack up the motorcycle
Bock the motorcycle safely to have enough space for working on the tachometer shaft. Use a motorcycle lifter or stand.
Step 3: Access to the rotary meter shaft
Remove the cover of the engine to get access to the tachometer shaft. Make sure you keep the screws safely.
Step 4: Remove the shaft
Loosen the screw that holds the tachometer shaft and carefully pull out the wave. Make sure not to damage any parts.
Step 5: insert new wave
Insert the new tachometer shaft into the bracket and tighten the screw again. Make sure the wave is sitting properly.
Step 6: final control
Check whether everything is properly assembled and put the engine cover again. Test the function of the rotary meter shaft before lowering the motorcycle.
How often should I check the rotary meter shaft?
It is recommended to check the rotary meter shaft at least once a year or with any oil change.
What to do if the rotary meter wave doesn't work?
First check all connections and cables. If the problem continues to exist, the wave could be damaged and may have to be replaced.
