Step 1: Preparation
Before you start installing the new LED blinkers, make sure that you have all the required tools and materials. This includes a screwdriver, a soldering iron (if necessary) and the new LED blinkers with resistances.
Step 2: Remove old indicators
Switch off the motorcycle and remove the battery to avoid electric shocks. Loosen the screws that hold the old indicators in their place and pull the plugs off. Make sure that you do not damage the cables.
Step 3: Connect resistance
The new LED blinkers need resistance to correctly adjust the flashing frequency. Connect the resistors according to the manufacturer's instructions. Make sure that the connection is safe and isolated to avoid short circuits.
Step 4: mount new indicators
Place the new turn signals to the previous fastening points and secure them with the screws. Make sure the indicators sit tight and don't wobble.
Step 5: Test the turn signal
Connect the battery again and test the turn signals. Check whether you flash in the right frequency and whether all functions work properly.
Step 6: End control
Perform a last inspection test to ensure that everything is installed correctly. Make sure that no cables are pinched and everything is safe.
Question 1: Do I need special tools for installation?
As a rule, you only need basic tools such as a screwdriver and possibly a soldering iron if you have to connect the cables.
Question 2: Can I install the indicators without resistances?
It is not recommended to install the indicators without resistances, as this can lead to incorrect flashing frequency and possibly to a malfunction.
