Step 1: Preparation

Before you start installing the new LED blinkers, make sure that the Kawasaki Versys 650 is on a stable and flat surface. Switch off the engine and remove the key to prevent accidental start.

Step 2: Tools ready

For the installation you need the following tools: a screwdriver (cross slot), a side cutter, a soldering iron or cable cutter and insulating tape. Make sure these tools are ready to go.

Step 3: Remove old indicators

Start removing the old indicators. Loosen the screws that hold the indicators in their place and carefully pull off the turn signal cables. Make sure not to damage the cables.

Step 4: Install new LED indicators

Take the new LED blinkers out of the packaging. Attach the turn signals to the same places from which you have removed the old indicators. Pull the screws to ensure that the indicators sit firmly.

Step 5: Connect resistance

Since LED indicators consume less electricity, you have to install the supplied resistors. Connect the resistances in parallel with the turn signal cables. Make sure to adhere to the right polarity and isolate the connections with insulating tape.

Step 6: Perform the function test

After everything is installed, switch on the ignition and test the new indicators. Check if you flash correctly. If everything works, the installation is complete.

How long do the LED indicators last?

LED blinkers usually have a lifespan of up to 50,000 hours, which makes it very durable compared to conventional incandescent lamps.

Do I need special resistance for my indicators?

Yes, the use of resistors is necessary to ensure that the flashing frequency remains correct and no errors occur in the flashing system.
