Step 1: Make preparations
Make sure you have all the tools and materials required. These include: new LED turn signals, resistances with e-test marks, wrenches, pliers and insulating tape.
Step 2: Remove old indicators
Switch off the ignition and remove the cover of the indicator. Loosen the screws that hold the old indicator and carefully pull it off.
Step 3: Connect new turn signals
Connect the cables of the new indicator to the corresponding cables of motorcycling electronics. Make sure to consider the colors of the cables (e.g. red on red, black on black).
Step 4: Install resistance
Install the resistances in parallel with the new indicators to regulate the turn signal frequency. Use insulating tape to secure the connections and avoid short circuits.
Step 5: carry out the function test
Turn on the ignition and test the new turn signals. Make sure you flash properly and the frequency is correct.
Step 6: Care and maintenance
Check the function of your turn signals and resistances regularly. Clean the turn signal housing with a soft cloth to remove dirt and dust.
How often should I check the indicators?
It is recommended to check the indicators at least every two months to ensure that they work properly.
Can I install the indicators myself?
Yes, the installation of the turn signals is easy and can be carried out by most motorcyclists themselves as long as the correct tools and instructions are available.
