Step 1: Preparation

Before you start installing the LED blinkers, make sure that you have all the required tools and materials. This includes a wrench, screwdriver, the new LED indicators, resistances and insulating tape.

Step 2: Remove old indicators

Loosen the screws that hold the old indicators in their place and carefully remove them. Make sure not to damage the cables.

Step 3: Connect resistance

Connect the resistances to the cables of the new LED blinkers. This is necessary to correctly adjust the flashing frequency. Isolate the connections thoroughly with insulating tape.

Step 4: mount new indicators

Place the new LED blinkers in the place of the old indicators and screw them tight. Make sure you are attached correctly and safely.

Step 5: Test the indicators

Turn on the motorcycle and test the new turn signals. Make sure that you flash evenly and that no error messages are displayed.

Step 6: Care and maintenance

Check the function of the turn signals and the connection of the resistances regularly. Clean the turn signal housing of dirt and dust to ensure visibility.

Question 1: Why do I need resistance for LED blinkers?

Resistors are necessary to adapt the flashing frequency of the LED blinkers to that of the motorcycle, since LED blinkers use less electricity than conventional light bulbs.

Question 2: Can I install the indicators myself?

Yes, the installation of the turn signals can usually be carried out yourself, provided you have fundamental knowledge of motorcycles and the right tools.
