Step 1: Preparation

Step 2: Access to the outlet control

Remove the cover of the engine to get access to the outlet control. Depending on the year of construction, this can require different screws. Make sure to keep the screws in a safe place.

Step 3: Checking the cable car

Check the condition of the cable train for cracks or wear. Carefully pull the cable train to ensure that it can be moved easily. The cable should be replaced in the event of signs of damage.

Step 4: Exchange of the cable train

When the cable is damaged, solve it from the bracket and remove it. Use the new cable in the reverse order and make sure that it is correctly attached to ensure a perfect function.

Step 5: Test of the outlet control

Before you attach the cover again, test the outlet control by turning the ignition key and starting the engine. Check whether the cable train works correctly and the outlet control opens properly and closes.

Step 6: completion and care

Bring up the cover of the engine and tighten all screws. Clean the surroundings of the engine of dirt and deposits. Make sure you carry out maintenance work regularly to extend the lifespan of the cable.

How often should I check out the outlet control?

It is recommended to check the outlet control with every maintenance of the motorcycle, but at least once a year.

What to do when the cable steeped?

When the cable is stuck, first check the fastenings and the condition of the cable. Cleaning or exchange may be required.
