- Step 6: Functional test
Step 1: Preparation
Before you start installation, make sure that you have all the necessary tools and materials on hand, including a screwdriver, pliers, soldering tools and the new LED indicators with e-test mark.
Step 2: Remove old indicators
Switch off the motorcycle and remove the battery to avoid electrical blows. Loosen the screws that attach the old indicators and carefully pull off the flashing cables.
Step 3: attach new indicators
Place the new LED indicators in the same place as the old ones. Attach them with screws and make sure that you sit firmly.
Step 4: Install resistance
To regulate the flashing frequency, install the supplied resistances. Connect the resistances in parallel to the indicators and ensure a secure connection through soldering or crimp connections.
Step 5: Check cabling
Check all cable connections thoroughly to ensure that there are no loose wires or bad contacts. Make sure that the cables are well insulated to avoid short circuits.
Step 6: Functional test
Switch on the battery again and test the new turn signals. Make sure that you flash properly and have the desired frequency. Also check the taillights to ensure that everything works.
Question 1: Why do I need resistance for LED blinkers?
LED blinkers have a lower power consumption than conventional light bulbs, which means that the flashing frequency is too fast. Resistance help to bring the flashing frequency to the normal level.
Question 2: Are these indicators also suitable for other motorcycles?
The turn signals are specially designed for KTM LC2 125 and Yamaha DT 125 R, but can also be used on other motorcycles with similar specifications as long as the assembly and electrical connections fit.
