The Hepco & Becker tanking Basic is specially designed for the Kawasaki Z 800 models from the construction years 2013 to 2016. This accessory enables reliable and easy attachment of a compatible tank bag directly to the motorcycle tank.

Technical details and scope of delivery

The scope of delivery of this product includes the tanking and an adaptable counter holder, which can be installed on the tank bag depending on the specific tank shape and the impact angle of the handlebar. The fuel lid remains fully accessible even with assembled tanking, which the use considerably simplifies.

Assembly and compatibility

The assembly of the tanking is uncomplicated. The tanking is placed on the fuel cap and mechanically locked with an audible click as soon as the tank backpack is put on. To remove the backpack, the unlocking mechanism, which is located at the front of the backpack, is operated.

Security and recommendations

The safe hold of the system is also guaranteed at higher speeds. A maximum speed of 130 km/h and a maximum payload of around 3 kg is recommended for the use of the tank bag system. It should be noted that there is no general operating license (ABE) or an entry in the vehicle documents necessary for the use of the tank bag system in Germany.

Differences to other tanking systems

The basic tanking differs from the lock-it fueling system mainly by the type of locking. While the lock-IT fueling also works with magnets for centering, the locking is carried out in a purely mechanical way during basic tanking. However, both systems use the same model -specific metal ring.

Further information

It is important to note that tank bags and counterholder must be compatible within the same system. A tank bag with lock-IT counterholder cannot be mounted on a basic tanking and vice versa.
