DUCATI 1000 GT [2007-2008] - Z-ring chain

The Regina 525 HPE Z-Ring Chain with Rivet Link sets new standards in motorcycle chain performance and durability. This chain features innovative Z-ring technology, which eliminates the need for regular lubrication that would otherwise be required every 1,000 km. This offers motorcyclists a significant advantage as maintenance requirements are significantly reduced.

Extensive tests in the laboratory and on the road have proven that the service life of the HPE chain is at least as long, if not longer, than that of a conventional, regularly lubricated Z-ring chain. A special feature of this chain is the coating with Tetrahedral Amorphous Carbon (ta-C), one of the most advanced coatings from the group of DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coatings. This coating is applied to the surface of the bushings and rollers and reduces energy losses while increasing efficiency in the secondary drive.

The combination of extremely high hardness of the coated surface and a low coefficient of friction leads to improved performance. Additionally, eliminating the need for chain cleaning and preventing lubricant splashes during operation minimizes environmental impact. This technological innovation was made possible by intensive research and development work by Regina engineers in Italy.
