Product description: Tanking Basic for BMW R 1200 RT

The Hepco & Becker tanking Basic is specially designed for the BMW R 1200 RT motorcycle model, which was produced between 2005 and 2013. This product enables the safe and easy attachment of a compatible tank bag directly to the machine's fuel tank.

The main tanker and an adaptable counterholder are included in the scope of delivery of the Basic tank. The counter holder can be installed on the tank bag on the tank bag depending on the specific tank shape and the handlebar. Even when tanking attached, the fuel cap can easily be opened without having to remove the backpack.

Specifications

• The tanking guarantees a stable stop even at higher speeds.
• The tank bag is assembled by a mechanical lock, which is confirmed by a clearly audible click.
• The unlocking of the tank bag is activated by a train on the front belt of the backpack in the direction of travel, whereupon the backpack can be easily removed.
• In Germany, no general operating license (ABE) or an entry in the vehicle documents is necessary for the use of the tank bag system.
• The recommended maximum speed with assembled tank bag is 130 km/h.
• The maximum recommended payload for the tank bag is around 3 kg.

Important instructions

It should be noted that tank bags and counterholder must be compatible within the same system. A tank bag with a lock-IT counter holder is not mounted on a basic tanking and vice versa. Users should always observe the information from the motorcycle manufacturer and the specific instructions of the product.

The tanking basic locks purely mechanically, without the support of magnets that contribute to centering in other models such as the lock-IT tanking.
