The Hepco & Becker tanking basic is specially designed for the BMW K 1300 S motorcycle model and compatible with the years of construction 2009 to 2016. This product enables easy and safe attachment of a tank bag directly to the fuel tank of the motorcycle.

Product features

• The tanking ensures a stable hold of the tank bag, even at high driving speeds.
• The tank bag is assembled by a mechanical lock that signals a clearly audible snap.
• To remove the backpack, the unlocking mechanism, which is located at the front of the backpack, is operated.
• In Germany, no general operating license (ABE) or an entry in the vehicle documents is necessary for the use of the tank bag system.
• The recommended maximum speed with assembled tank bag is 130 km/h.
• The maximum payload for the tank bag should not exceed about 3 kg.

Installation and compatibility

The tanking basic is supplied together with a counter holder, which is attached to the tank bag depending on the shape of the tank and the handlebar. Access to the tank cover remains without restrictions even with fueling fueling.

Differences to other tanking systems

Compared to the Lock-IT system from Hepco & Becker, which also works with magnets for centering, the basic tanking offers a purely mechanical lock. However, both systems use the same model -specific metal ring. It is important that tank bags and tanking have to come from the same system to be compatible.
